Xbox problem! #Red

So lately when I've been turning my Xbox off it doesn't turn all the way off but instead acts as if its asleep. It continues to make noise and the light blinks on and off like a computer when it's sleeping.
Has anyone else ever experienced this problem? Maybe I'm just overworking it.
I hope I don't get the red ring of death....
